PERFORM – software to model a tremor

Janine Smith

The PERFORM project is one of 50 projects selected from 450 applications to be displayed at the Innovation Convention 2011 exhibition to be held in Brussels on 5th and 6th December 2011. A working version of the system will be on show.

OCC’s software engineers are developing, testing and integrating software to model a person’s tremor for a wearable home monitoring device for people with neurogenerative diseases.

OCC has a long standing involvement with research into virtual reality related healthcare for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD). We also have relationships with PD organizations across Europe and we have been employed to help disseminate the results of the PERFORM project at technical and medical conferences.

Virtual Reality Glasses – PARREHA

OCC provided software programming expertise for the PARREHA system virtual reality (VR) glasses for people with PD. This system helps in the assessment of motor performance and the design of rehabilitation training programmes.

Virtual visual clues aid mobility

INDIGO are OCC’s VR  glasses developed from the PARREHA project.

You can see demos of the VR glasses on the Medical Device – VR glasses page of our website.
