  • Oxfordshire Young Enterprise County Finals

    OCC are very proud to continue our support of Young Enterprise in Oxfordshire. Young Enterprise is the United Kingdom’s largest business and enterprise education charity. Every year they help 250,000 young people learn about business and the world of work in the classroom under the guidance of volunteers from 3,500 companies.   • International Congress on Telehealth and Telecare

    OCC represented Cupid for the International Congress on Telehealth and Telecare at the Kings Fund on 7-8 March. There was a lot of interest in the results from the Whole System Demonstrator which has established the benefits of telemedicine for chronic diseases. The European Commission was directly represented by speakers from the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing. Cupid built links with two other FP7 projects, Chronious and inCasa.

Here at OCC we are involved in a number of telemedicine projects around Parkinson’s disease and the latest is CuPiD.   • OCC donates PCs to homeless charity for internet cafe

First Housing is the Shepherd’s View service that focuses on helping young parents by providing a supportive environment, helping them develop their skills and self-confidence as parents and as individuals.     PSOCC V2.2  is now rolling out to OCC’s PSOCC users. The new look PSOCC improves the way support providers can securely share information and workloads. New reports let users more clearly see the support that’s needed and the outcomes achieved.   • PERFORM – software to model a tremor

    The PERFORM project is one of 50 projects selected from 450 applications to be displayed at the Innovation Convention 2011 exhibition to be held in Brussels on 5th and 6th December 2011. A working version of the system will be on show.   • CuPiD – Parkinsons rehabilitation and telemedicine

    Dr John Boyle, MD, and Dr Reynold Greenlaw, Senior Project Manager are attending the CuPiD kick-off meeting in Bologna.   • OCC Awarded Sustainable Routes Grant

    OCC has been awarded a grant of £1,000 from Sustainable Routes, as we were able to show that we had purchased 2 new laptops, to help staff work from home and a web cam and microphone have been installed in one of our meeting rooms for distant communication.   • Science Oxford Apprentice 2011 – Voting closes Friday

    The Science Oxford Apprentice is an annual enterprise competition for 16-19 year old students in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The Competition aims to encourage young people to develop their skills by giving them the chance to interact with local science and technology companies. This year OCC is supporting Science Oxford Apprentice which sees students competing in a series of business-themed challenges for a cash prize of £475 and a two week work placement at OCC.
