The Bid Manager is expected to understand and manage client proposals, frameworks, and tenders across the company. Primarily working for the Innovation Delivery Team, the Bid Manager is responsible for identifying opportunities for new work and managing and coordinating the response to proposals, tenders, and bids through to completion.

Responsibilities 

  • Build a good base knowledge of ID and LG’s services, expertise and USP’s to write quality proposal responses. 
  •  Work with key stakeholders to develop sound commercial awareness and use this to identify new frameworks and tender opportunities and support the writing of proposals 
  •  Monitor tender portals and manage all framework and tender opportunities, including co-ordinating written responses, meeting key criteria set and submitting to deadlines  
  •  Create and manage a central tender response depository 
  •  Plan and monitor bid progress against the scheduled plan, addressing issues as they arise  
  •  Report on proposals, framework and tender success and provide statistics to key stakeholders 
  •  Ensure all timelines are met and responses are as complete and accurate as possible while also best reflecting OCC’s services and abilities 
  •  Obtain and disseminate customer feedback on bids won and lost 
  •  Use customer feedback to improve the quality of bidding responses 

Requirements 

  • Experience in managing the bid and tender process, including writing software development bids 
  •  Excellent time management, efficiency, and the ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision 
  •  Competent in the use of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365 
  •  Able to problem solve and work in a pro-active manner 
  •  The ability to deal with complex business relationships and manage multiple resources  
  •  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 
  •  Strong attention to detail
