Company profile
Based in the centre of Oxford, OCC is a successful business which employs 55 IT professionals. The company was founded in 1989 by two of its current directors, Dr John Boyle and Kaz Librowski. Their entrepreneurial vision, methodical planning and supportive leadership has resulted in the company maintaining a steady growth rate of 15-20% pa since its inception.
OCC enjoyed continued growth in 2011 in all arms of the company - products, bespoke solutions and research - and continues to do so in 2012.
What makes us stand out from the rest?
Robust, reliable, custom-built software delivered on time and within budget.
The directors' original interest and experience in cognitive modelling ensures that OCC's software has a sound theoretical underpinning which maps closely onto the way people work.
This strategy of balancing highly innovative research with a steady flow of customized software designs and consultancy ensures our consultants remain at the forefront of fascinating technological developments whilst developing core strengths.
Case study: Sport England Interactive Web-based Tool
OCC developed an interactive web-based tool for Sport England to help organizations plan their investment into sporting facilities. This involved the development of a Geographical Information System (GIS) that shows the profile of people living in different parts of the UK.
Direct, dedicated product support
Even more important to our success, however, are OCC's people. An important part of our philosophy is to work in partnership with clients who are in direct contact with OCC consultants from the start of a project.
Consequently, 80% of our business is generated by existing customers. Customer survey results indicate strong satisfaction with the quality of our people and their capabilities as well as with our products, pricing and services. A list of comments can be seen in our Clients' page and any proposals to prospective clients include referee contact details for third party verification.
Socially responsible business practice
OCC's culture is based on the tenet that the company's IT solutions and services should bring value to clients and to the local community in a socially responsible way. We manage operations that involve clean technology and actively pursue research and development and/or commercial projects that involve using information technology to address major societal and healthcare problems with the aim of improving quality of life. (See examples in our research section).
By careful management of people and projects we continue to enjoy a reputation for providing excellent quality services to our customers, partners and user bases of over 100,000 throughout Europe, the Far East and the USA.
