Supply Chain Marketing System

ABC is a market leader in the distribution of literature to UK travel agents. A key strength is the complete service that the company provides, from initial brief to implementation and delivery, supporting online client access to their information system.

With over 250 clients in the travel and tourism industry, ABC handles 200 million items annually. Using Transman Distributor, their inhouse carrier network, ABC operates from more than 10 distribution centres in the UK.

OCC upgrades the management information system and creates an online ordering system.

  1. Redesign the existing management information programme to co-ordinate and control all aspects of the Transman delivery process.
  2. Replicate the existing user interface to maximize efficiency, facilitate the rollout of the new system and minimize training requirements.
  3. Create an online ordering system, called BrochureNet, to enable travel agents to search for and order brochures relevant to specific holidays.

Data variables such as volumes and tonnage by van route are analyzed. Delivery times can be dramatically improved by changing the drop order of recipients along a route in response to traffic conditions, by moving parcels to different routes or on different dates.

This extra degree of control built into the database, ensures that ABC maintains their unique position of dealing effectively with the seasonal variations of the travel and tourism industry. The new system allows authorized users to check on the status of a group of parcels and allows third party clients to enter details of parcels for delivery by Transman.

"It has been a pleasure to work with such a professional organization with their strong understanding of business applications and excellent level of support which makes them an ideal working partner."
