Air Quality Monitoring System
- Reduces cost of collecting and reporting on environmental data from multiple sources
- Informs the public of air quality by tracking environmental trends
OCC developed an analytical software system, for the Signal-group's Air Quality Monitoring (AQM) system, to work in conjunction with existing hardware. The AQM hardware features an automated dialler, which calls AQM stations remotely around the UK and collects air quality data from those sites.
OCC designed the analytical software for
- Precision analysis capabilities so that data can be generated at any specific moment, enabling the user to produce precise analyses of the air quality for a given moment in time.
- Automated production of daily reports and summaries (which are all user-configurable) showing levels of gases in the air in a variety of formats: table, line graph and wind rose, for monitoring air quality every day.
- Historical data views allowing users to enter time periods within which to collect and view the information and help to understand air quality over time and spot trends in the analysis of the data.
- Data relevant to pollution levels and air quality to be provided to members of the public by telephone.
Systems to monitor accurately and report on environmental data such as air quality are of increasing importance in the 21st century.
