People
Oxford Computer Consultants employs over 40 IT professionals. The company was founded in 1989 by its current co-directors, Dr John Boyle and Mr Kaz Librowski. Their interest in cognitive modeling ensures that OCC's products have a sound theoretical underpinning which map closely to the way people work. This theoretical knowledge, together with hands on experience in the health, engineering and service sectors has provided the roots from which OCC's reputation has grown. Our clients are given direct links to the people who actually design their software, responding to concerns and queries succinctly and without technical jargon. Senior Management Team
OCC's directors believe that the company's IT solutions and services should bring value to clients and the local community in a socially responsible way. We develop IT solutions that will provide positive effects on health, safety and the environment in an ethical way. We actively pursue research and development and commercial projects that involve using IT technology to address societal and healthcare problems and consequently improve quality of life. A few examples include the creation of SEAHORSE, Europe’s first ever HIV/AIDS healthcare information exchange, HERO educational software for the rehabilitation of prisoners and PARREHA glasses for the rehabilitation of patients with Parkinson’s Disease (called INDIGO in 2005). OCC has a bicycle funding scheme which has resulted in 95% of our colleagues cycling to work, has an active recycling scheme in all parts of the office, and sponsors Oxford City Council's Oxford in Bloom on the Plain roundabout. We have supported the Young Enterprise Scheme and Oxford Entrepreneurs Society through office and mentoring resources. We sponsor local charity, The Oxford Trust which promotes the study and application of science and technology and we support the Oxford Bach Choir. For our Xmas card alternative we choose a different specialist charity annually. Design |
